Relentlessly Pursuing Love: Reflecting Jesus to the World
In a world where "matching energy" and the "eye for an eye" mentality are all too common, there’s a powerful call to respond with relentless love, just as Jesus does for us. Despite our hurt or frustrations, we’re called to pursue others with love, even when it’s difficult, because God’s love is transformational, not transactional. Through my personal journey, I’ve learned that loving others unconditionally—just as Jesus relentlessly knocks at our hearts—can heal relationships and bring about powerful, life-changing transformation.
When God Says “Be Still”: Learning to Stop Running and Start Listening
Here’s something else I’ve had to face:
There is no shame in resting.
There is no guilt in taking a day off.
There is no failure in saying “no.”
We live in a world that celebrates hustle and glorifies exhaustion—but heaven doesn’t.
God Himself rested after creating the world. Jesus took time away from the crowds to be with the Father. The Sabbath wasn’t a suggestion—it was a command. Not because God needs our compliance, but because He knows we need the permission to stop.
We were never designed to run 24/7.
We were never meant to say yes to everything.
And we certainly weren’t made to feel guilty for stepping back to breathe.
You are allowed to take a nap. You are allowed to have boundaries. You are allowed to not be available all the time.
Rest isn’t selfish. It’s sacred.
Boundaries aren’t walls—they are wisdom.
So if you’ve been carrying that shame, let it go. Jesus doesn’t hand out gold stars for burnout. He’s far more interested in your heart than your hustle.
Come to the Table: Why Listening Matters More Than Judging
The world doesn’t need more noise. It needs more tables — more places where people can come, speak, and be heard without immediately being labeled, dismissed, or condemned.
In ministry, I’ve learned this: you can’t help someone heal if you don’t first understand their wound.
And you can’t understand it unless you’re willing to listen.
Not to respond. Not to correct. But to truly understand.
And once we understand, we have to go a step further:
We can’t expect people to build something different — a new life, a new mindset, a new direction — if they’ve never been given the tools to do so.
How can someone build a house of stability when all they’ve ever known is survival? How can they form healthy relationships when their foundation was built on trauma and distrust?
That’s where we come in.
That’s where love becomes action.
The Pursuit of Love: Catching Flights, Chasing Hope, and Facing the Risk
There’s something in us that longs for connection, for the kind of intimacy that can’t be replicated or reasoned with. We want to be seen, known, wanted—not just through screens and messages, but in real time, across dinner tables and airport gates.
But love—real love—is risky.
You can give your heart and not have it held. You can fly across the country and end up in a hotel room wondering why you ever left home. You can open up, be honest, be vulnerable—and still be left on read.
Still, we go.
The Vision, The Struggles, and The Hope for Love: A Journey Toward Building a Life I’m Proud Of
I’ve always been a real and honest person. In business, I’ve prided myself on being straightforward and genuine—no games, no facades, just authenticity. And in love, I’ve always tried to wear my heart on my sleeve, honest about what I want and what I can give. But for some reason, I’ve never quite allowed myself to give love a fair chance until recently. I focused so much on the vision of what I thought my life was supposed to look like that I left little room for the thing I wanted the most—companionship. I’ve been so consumed by career goals, by proving to myself and the world that I could build this life, that I overlooked the fact that the journey doesn’t mean nearly as much without someone to share it with.
Showing Up: The Power of Being a Villager
In life, there’s a common phrase that gets tossed around a lot: “It takes a village.” It’s often used to describe the idea that we need a community of support in order to raise a child, navigate difficult seasons, or pursue our dreams. But here’s the reality that doesn’t always get discussed: for that village to work, we need people willing to be villagers. It's not just about having a community—it’s about showing up when it counts, giving without expecting anything in return, and serving out of love.
